Trekking in Nepal > Kanchenjunga Base Camp
Travel to the remote eastern corner of Nepal for an unforgettable trek to the base camps used by expeditions climbing the world's third highest peak, Kanchenjunga. This is a challenging trek to a rugged part of the country but will satisfy the most ardent adventurer.
Straddling the Nepal/Sikkim (India) border stands the massive bulk of Kanchenjunga. Its isolated position makes it recognisable from many vantage points but to experience its splendour to the full you need to trek to its very base.
The mountain can be scaled from either the north or south and this trek takes you to both base camps. On the way you cross two high passes, stay in deserted summer settlements, meet a unique group of highland people and every day see an ever changing mountain landscape.
The trekking route takes you from the steamy plains of the south through the middle hills, to the high arid plains below the mountain peaks. All of the route is through remote parts of the country making the trip all the more of an adventure.
If you are looking for something different, something that few visitors have ever experienced, then the Kanchenjunga trek could be for you.
